It’s Not THE Economy You Should Be Worried About
Block out the negativity and keep your eye on the horizon.
Hi reader,
I'm a British citizen. I came to America because I wanted more. More opportunity, more freedom, more chances to build the life I always dreamed of. And I found it.
This country is bursting with potential, and sometimes I think Americans don't even realize what they have right here at their fingertips. If you want to succeed, you can. I’m not saying it’ll be easy, and you’ll hear plenty of arguments against it. But that’s why I’m here: to remind you that you’re responsible for creating your own success.
Today’s advice to grow your business
Instead of worrying about the economy, focus on YOUR economy.
The Internet has become a cesspool of negativity. You can't scroll for five minutes without seeing someone talking about the price of eggs, inflation, interest rates, etc.
But guess what? There are still people out there making money. Lots of it. And those people are not the ones sitting around complaining.
There are always going to be people whining about the economy. You have to create your OWN economy. Focus on what you can control: your prices, your costs, your marketing, your customer relationships. That's your economy, and that's where you need to put your energy. Don’t get distracted.
Here’s how this will benefit you
Gain more of a sense of control over your business.
When you stop letting the news dictate your mood, you start to feel properly in control. Instead of panicking about interest rates, you'll be thinking strategically about how to price your products. Instead of worrying about a recession, you'll be focused on building relationships with your customers and finding new income streams. You'll realize that your business is in your hands, not in the hands of some random commentator with an opinion.
Build a resilient business that can thrive in any environment.
The world throws curveballs. Always has, always will. But when you build your own strong economic foundation, you'll be able to adapt to anything. This is about creating a business that's so strong, so well-run, that it can withstand any external pressure.
Economic downturn? Supply chain issues? Bring it on. You'll have the systems, the resources, and the mindset to keep moving forward, no matter what’s thrown your way.
Your first step
Cut out any people and sources that are dragging you down.
Look around you. Who are the people constantly complaining about the economy, spreading fear and doubt? Who's telling you it can't be done? Who's making you question yourself? Cut them out.
Unfollow those accounts, mute those conversations, and stop giving them your attention. You’re responsible for your success. There’s a whole world of opportunity out there. Go make it happen.
If you need help making some changes or figuring out your priorities, let me know. I’m here to help.
Best,
Jono
