Human-Written Content Always Wins
AI-written blogs are tanking. You need a human expert writing your content if you want to reach your ideal customers.
Hi reader,
I was talking to my content writer, Sheila, about AI the other day. She was saying that it’s gotten to a point where she can spot AI-written content from the very first sentence.
Because AI isn’t human and relies on algorithms, it ends up repeating a lot of the same language and sentence structures in every output. Some of the most common giveaways:
“In today’s fast-paced digital world…”
Any title with the words “unlocking potential”
Multiple sentences structured like: “It’s not just _____; it’s _____”
So, what does this mean for you? Well, using AI to write blog posts isn’t going to cut it anymore. In fact, it’s probably doing you more harm than good. Here’s why.
Today’s advice to grow your business
Avoid using AI alone to write content. The winning strategy is a combination of AI and human expertise.
With all the changes happening in search right now (AI, zero-click searches), the key to showing up on search engines is publishing valuable and original content. If you're publishing content completely written by AI, it’s going to blend in with the thousands of other articles out there, and Google will bury it at the bottom of the search results.
Neil Patel actually did some research on this and found that content 100% written by AI performs way worse in SEO and engagement than content that combines AI with human expertise (see the graph below). Think of AI as a sports car – you need a skilled driver to go fast and keep it on the road.

Here’s how this will benefit you
You'll be more likely to show up in search results.
The old (I’m talking even a year ago) way of doing SEO does not work anymore! Writing basic blog posts and then sprinkling in some keywords is not going to do anything for you except waste your time. If you want any chance of showing up in search results these days, you need content that's truly original and adds real value to the people searching.
The only way to do that is with a human expert writer (who can use AI strategically). With this approach, search engines are way more likely to feature snippets from your content in their results. And that means more people see your content, click on it, and head over to your website.
You'll create content with long-term value.
AI-written content is just an aggregation of all the existing content out there about a given topic. There’s literally no way for it to offer any form of original thinking. That means even if that piece of content gains some initial traction, it will eventually be lost in all the noise.
But when you use human expertise, you create valuable content that will become timeless. You’re able to add unique insights, perspectives, and ideas that you won’t find anywhere else. That’s the type of content that will keep people coming back for years.
Your first step
If you already have a blog…
Stop using AI to write your posts!!! I can promise you that it’s not doing your business any favors – all it’s doing is wasting your valuable time. Instead, find yourself a reputable content writer who can create original content that actually helps your target audience (Hint: Vervology can help with that. Just let me know if you need someone.)
If don’t have a blog…
Your job is to start. Times have changed and you HAVE to start building a body of knowledge around your brand – otherwise, you’re going to get left behind. That doesn’t necessarily have to be in the form of a blog, but you do need content in order to remain relevant and trustworthy. (And blogging is often a good place to start.)
I know this is a lot to digest. But like I’ve been saying, the world has changed. If you want to keep up, you have to adapt – it’s not an option.
I’m happy to hop on a call if you’re looking for next steps or strategic advice. Just let me know.
Best,
Jono
